Rishikesh, the gateway to the Himalayas, is a small town situated in state of Uttarakhand in Northern India. Rishikesh is located on the banks of river Ganga and is surrounded by mountains on three sides with Holy Ganga flowing through it. The whole area is filled with thick green forests and the ceaseless flow river Ganges adds to the purity and serene beauty of the place.
It is considered to be one of the holiest places of Hindu pilgrimage where the Char Dham Yatra of ideally begins. There are numerous Ashrams and temples in Rishikesh which give the entire place a spiritual feeling.

Ramjhula in Rishikesh
Ramjhula, about 3 km from Rishikesh, is associated with Indian Hindu religion is very popular among people coming to the place for religious purposes. It is famous for its Ashrams and temples, Geeta Bhawan and Swarg Ashram, being the most popular ones.
Laxman Jhula is a hanging bridge across river Ganges and is about 5Kms from Rishikesh. Originally it was a jute rope bridge without any pillars. In 1889, the Jhula (swing) was rebuilt with iron ropes. There is a very famous temple of Lord Ram, Shri Raghunathji temple, near Laxman Jhula.
